Wandering Doe – Photo of the Week

Sorry folks! I’ve been absent for a while. Tons going on and then away from home for work for a week. Busy times! But I’m back and have posted another Photo of the Week. This time, it’s an image taken with my new Nikon D7100. Am very happy with the camera so far. It’s early days, but so far, I like it. I look forward to lots more photography to really put the camera through its paces. And hopefully, there will be more opportunities to photograph the beautiful doe, the subject of this week’s Photo of the Week from 44th Parallel Photography.

Swimming Through Salad – Photo of the Week

This week’s Photo of the Week has an odd but fitting title. I’m going to let you tune into my Photo of the Week webpage to read about it, rather than telling you what it’s about. Note that no salad dressing was used in the making of this photo. šŸ˜‰

Summertime – Photo of the Week

There’s been no end to the busyness this summer and so yet again, I’m behind in my postings. But finally, here is another Photo of the Week. This one is inspired by our local landscape and the beautiful scenery I see nearly daily on my drive to work.

A Sea of Tulips – Photo of the Week

On Saturday I taught my fine art flower photography workshop. All I can say is WOW! Fabulous group of participants, flowers and colour galore, great light (cloudy with light rain and wonderfully vibrant colour saturation) and a wonderful day! Read more about it and see one of the images of our sea of tulips in my Photo of the Week.

It’s Turtle Time – Photo of the Week

I’m just back from a fantastic long weekend in Toronto with family and so just getting 44th Parallel Photography’s Photo of the Week up. This week’s photo signals the start of my Turtle Conservation Photography project – to bring awareness (and hopefully some appreciation!) of these wonderful reptiles. Seeing them dead on the road bothers me and reminds me how many people could stand to treat nature with more kindness.

The Warblers Return – Photo of the Week

I’m late with the Photo of the Week – sorry! Spring is my busiest time of year. The warblers are back, the wildflowers are starting to bloom. Oh, so much to get out and photograph!

But here is this week’s Photo of the Week from 44th Parallel Photography – better late, than never. šŸ™‚ This week’s photo is of one of our beautiful little warblers that pass by on their way up to the boreal forest. I love this time of year and in late winter every year, look forward to seeing the return of these beautiful little birds.

Returning – Photo of the Week

It’s been a busy time lately, but I finally got out with my camera. It was a great day to be out – the first time this year that it’s actually felt like spring. It lifted my spirits and I so enjoyed photographing the Red-winged Blackbirds and Common Grackles that have returned to the cattail marshes to duke it out for the best territories. Spring has returned. šŸ™‚

Signs of Spring – Photo of the Week

Finally, I’m back! Enjoying blog posts, social media posts and just generally do things photographic. Between getting over the flu, doing my InDesign II course, and a whole host of other things, it’s good to be back. I don’t like missing my regular blog posting. I feel disconnected. So I’m happy to post that I have a new Photo of the Week. This one is again on the theme of lamenting the lack of spring weather, but with a more optimistic tone. šŸ™‚ This week’s post is about robins. Those tough little birds that usher in the change of the season, from winter to spring.

Winter On The River – Photo of the Week

This week’s Photo of the Week is of some of the elegant landscape Mother Nature creates with a snowstorm. Last week she walloped us with another blizzard – more of the wet, sticky snow we had at Christmas time. This sticky snow coats the tree branches, creating beautiful nearly-monochrome landscapes.
